Michiel van Trommel works as an orthopedic surgeon at the BovenIJ Hospital in Amsterdam. In 2009, he founded KneeClinic. The KneeClinic is a clinic specializing in knee disorders. In 2022, the KneeClinic became part of XpertClinics.<\/p>\n

Career Michiel van Trommel<\/h2>\n

After high school, in 1989, Michiel van Trommel studied medicine. He specialized in orthopedic surgery and later obtained his PhD in meniscus repair. During his studies, he worked as a student researcher at the university. Michiel van Trommel’s career began at the Leyenburg Hospital in The Hague and the Sofia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam, where he worked during his specialization as an orthopedic surgeon.<\/p>\n

He then followed a fellowship Spinal Trauma, Spinal Injuries Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London (RNOH) in 1996. And in the same year he also followed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery, Sports Medicine & Shoulder Service in New York. In 1997, he started working as Chef de Clinique Orthopedie & Traumalogie at the Onze Lieve Vrouwen Gasthuis in Amsterdam. Since 1998, Michiel van Trommel has worked as an orthopedic surgeon at the BovenIJ Hospital and from 2009 to 2023 at the KneeClinic. He founded the Dutch Hip and KneeClinic<\/a> wiith a group of dedicated orthopaedic surgeons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Michiel van Trommel regularly appears in the media. For example, he has appeared in SBS Shownieuws, Vinger aan de Pols, Man Bijt Hond and has sat down with Harry Mens several times for the program Business Class. He also writes columns for the health section of the Telegraaf.<\/p>\n
